MATCH PREVIEW | Leamington vs Chester | National League North
After defeat in the FA Trophy last weekend, the Blues will look to keep up their excellent league form in 2020 with a trip to Leamington on the horizon.
4-0 and 1-0 victories to start the new year over Southport and Guiseley respectively, the Blues are in a strong position going into the weekend – as the top two sides in King’s Lynn Town and York City face each other.
However, Chester travel to a Leamington side they haven’t yet beat in the three meetings between the sides in the past couple of seasons. Last term, Colby Bishop’s goal was the difference in Warwickshire. The Brakes have a great track record with talents moving on to greater heights – as the goalscorer from that game joined League One Accrington Stanley in the summer.
The next to follow was to the EFL was striker Josh March this month – which may be a boost for the Blues. He caused havoc in the 3-3 draw at the 1885 Arena between the sides at the end of September. Scoring one of his 16 National League North goals, the exciting forward was poached by Forest Green Rovers for an undisclosed fee earlier in January.
Chester may be in line to welcome back Danny Livesey, Scott Burton and Akwasi Asante this weekend – all three missing recent games due to injuries. Midfielder George Glendon is available for selection.
