MBNA extend Chester FC sponsorship until end of 2026!
We are thrilled to announce that MBNA has extended its partnership with Chester FC until the end of 2026, marking 16 years of collaboration.
The partnership has provided over 11,700 community engagement opportunities and 975 coaching hours, impacting local schools and promoting inclusivity and mental wellbeing.
MBNA has extended its partnership with Chester FC until the end of 2026, marking 16 years of collaboration – one of the longest-running sponsorships in UK football, alongside Manchester City’s partnership with Etihad and Arsenal’s with Emirates.
Since 2010, MBNA has been Chester FC’s principal partner, providing front-of-shirt sponsorship and supporting the club’s growth both on and off the pitch. Their support goes beyond sponsorship, playing a vital role in expanding community outreach through Chester FC Community Trust, founded in 2013 with backing from the MBNA Community Investment Programme.
As a fan-owned club with a strong volunteer ethos, Chester FC has worked closely with MBNA to deliver programmes that promote physical activity, mental wellbeing, and social development for people of all ages.
Thanks to MBNA’s investment, the Trust has been able to expand its reach, delivering impactful initiatives such as:
• School sports provision with local primary schools across Chester, inspiring young people to stay active.
• A thriving women’s and girls’ football programme with two senior teams, an Under-18s squad, and an FA-accredited Girls Emerging Talent Centre.
• Key community programmes including mental health and wellbeing football, junior disability football, exercise groups and walking football.
• Practical support for young people, including summer provisions for low-income families – providing meals and activities – and a dedicated weekly Youth Club.
Together, Chester FC and MBNA have facilitated more than 11,700 community engagement opportunities, and dedicated coaches have delivered more than 975 hours of support to local schools, ensuring young people have access to fun, inclusive, welcoming spaces where they can develop confidence, resilience, and friendships.
Victoria Dowd, MBNA Community Investment Manager, said: “Partnering with Chester FC Community Trust continues to be an invaluable part of our work in supporting the local community. The impact the Trust has had over the years is clear, and we’re grateful to be part of initiatives that help young people from all backgrounds access sports and build strong, inclusive communities. It’s fantastic to see Chester FC grow, succeed and make such a positive difference. We’re excited to be a part of what’s to come in the years ahead.”
Jim Green, Chief Executive at Chester FC Community Trust, added: “Our 16-year partnership with MBNA goes beyond sponsorship, making a tangible difference in the community. Their continued support has been key in driving our inclusive programmes, and as we look ahead, we’re excited to expand and strengthen these initiatives. With Chester FC in pole position for promotion and MBNA by our side as our principal sponsor, we’re building for a brighter future together.”
As the partnership continues, Chester FC Community Trust and MBNA Community Investment Programme remain dedicated to expanding their reach, strengthening their impact, and ensuring that sport remains a driving force for social good across the region.
