MILESTONE | Kevin Roberts completes 50 Blues appearances!
Chester FC defender Kevin Roberts has now made 50 appearances for the reformed club!
The 31-year-old is a Chester City Academy graduate and returned to the Deva Stadium to sign for the reformed club in the summer of 2019.
Since departing the Blues at the start of his career, Kev had made over 100 appearances for Cambridge United and also FC Halifax Town – earning promotions with both sides.
Roberts has been an ever present in defence ever since his arrival. Described in recent weeks by Joint Boss Anthony Johnson as a ‘Rolls Royce of a player’ – it would be hard to disagree.
The defender has chipped in with two goals in his half century of games – both headers. He struck at Curzon Ashton in the 3-1 victory back in September 2019 – and was the match winner in the victory over Guiseley earlier this month.
But it’s not just his goals. He’s a solid, reliable figure in an experienced back line. Moments like his injury time flying block at Guiseley in January 2020 in the 1-0 win underline his importance – moments that are as big as a goal at the other end.
A cool head and experienced figure on the pitch, and a true professional off the field too.
Congratulations on the milestone, Kev!
