Nathan Woodthorpe speaks ahead of Morecambe (A)
Left-back Nathan Woodthorpe referenced the special nature of playing in the FA Cup ahead of tomorrow’s trip to Morecambe.
The 23-year-old also spoke about the importance of the travelling support with over 1000 away tickets sold for Saturday’s clash.
“You always have to look forward to the FA Cup,” he said.
“It’s always special to be a part of a competition with so much history and hopefully it will be one to remember at Morecambe.
“The supporters will have a massive impact – It always gives us a boost when they travel in such great numbers.”
Nathan also commented on the type of test that the Shrimps will provide at the Mazuma Mobile Stadium.
“They are a total-footballing side,” he said.
“We know that they like to play out from the back and like to play their football, so it should be an enjoyable game and a good test for ourselves.
“We know that our performances have been improved in the last few weeks, despite the goals that we have been conceding.
“There is still some work at both ends of the pitch that we can improve on but the performances have been miles better.
The full-back also spoke on the improvement within the defensive unit over the month of September.
“We’ve felt a lot more comfortable in games, especially since the draw at Fylde,” said Nathan.
“As a defensive unit we have had discussions and said that we’ve felt so much more comfortable, it’s just those fine details and we’ve got to work hard to keep putting that right.”
