NEWS | Blues delighted to host first Fair Game conference!
Chester FC was delighted to be part of the first Fair Game annual conference, which took place at the Deva Stadium on Friday.
Bringing together clubs, stakeholders, researches and journalists, the day was a huge success and we are grateful to Fair Game for the opportunity to host such an important event.
The conference featured political roundtables, panel discussions and networking, with investigative journalist David Conn and Lucy Powell, Shadow Secretary of State for Culture, Media and Sport, among the speakers.
Representatives of many Fair Game clubs were in attendance too, including Cambridge United, Exeter City Grimsby Town, Luton Town, Tranmere Rovers, and FC United of Manchester.
Fair Game is a coalition of football clubs working together to improve the governance of football in England and Wales, and develop long-term, realistic solutions to the problems our national game faces.
Samantha Dixon, Member of Parliament for the City of Chester, said: “I am pleased that Chester was selected as the host city for the inaugural Fair Game conference.
“A huge thank you to the team at Chester FC for hosting such an important event.
“It was interesting to hear the contributions from club representatives and Lucy about what government can contribute towards making football a more fair and sustainable game for clubs across the country.
“I look forward to seeing Fair Game’s continuing work.”
