NEWS | Chester FC support #NoHomeKit campaign

Chester FC will be supporting Shelter’s #NoHomeKit campaign by wearing our yellow away kit on Boxing Day.

#NoHomeKit asks the football community to come together and ditch their home shirt, and instead wear an away kit, for the traditional Boxing Day fixtures.

The National League has pledged its support for the campaign, which aims to raise awareness of the scale of homelessness across the country as well as raising funds to support Shelter’s frontline services and its campaigns to end the housing emergency.

We will be wearing yellow for our Boxing Day match against AFC Telford United, and we are encouraging fans to show their support for the campaign and wear their favourite away shirt for the game at New Bucks Head.

    What is #NoHomeKit?

This Christmas, Shelter are asking clubs and fans from across football to swap their home colours for an away or third kit, show support and raise vital funds for those with no safe place to call home.

Every 90 minutes, 25 households are made homeless in England. The housing emergency continues to devastate lives. This winter, thousands of people will spend Christmas trapped in dingy hostels, on friends’ sofas, or even sleeping in freezing cars. This is something we can’t ignore.

With the growing cost of living crisis, the situation is set to get much worse. With your help Shelter can continue to provide free advice and support to the thousands of people facing homelessness and continue the fight for home.

Together, we can make sure everyone in the UK has access to a safe, secure and affordable place to call home.

If you would like to know more about the campaign or donate to Shelter, visit shelter.org.uk/nohomekit or text ‘HOME’ to 70455 to donate £5.
