NEWS | Georgina Slawinski appointed Blues General Manager!
Chester FC is pleased to confirm the appointment of Georgina Slawinski as General Manager.
Georgina has been appointed following a thorough recruitment process, with the focus of her role to drive forward our day-to-day operations, as well as maximising income on non-matchdays through use of the facilities available to the club and helping the board with various commercial aspects.
Originally from Wolverhampton, Georgina joins us from the Wolves Foundation where she worked as Health Engagement Officer, supporting the implementation of the adult mental wellbeing programme ‘Head 4 Health’ by maintaining and creating new partnerships with key stakeholders, alongside developing creative methods to promote and market the project.
She achieved first-class honours in Sports Business and Coaching from UCFB Wembley and has worked with The FA as a Team Liaison Officer. She also currently works for the Premier League as a Games Programme Consultant, supporting the delivery of the Academy Games Programme and the values of the Elite Player Performance Plan (EPPP) working on a wide variety of tournaments, events and fixtures across all academy age groups from U9’s to U23’s.
Georgina’s extensive experience also saw her awarded a scholarship through Women in Football to study the professional master’s degree in Football Business at The Football Business Academy (The FBA), completing an internship in the Netherlands and also helping Portuguese side S.L Benfica to develop their official app.
Blues Director Adam Langan said: “I want to thank all the candidates who applied throughout the process for their efforts and patience.
“We had a huge amount of interest in the role with over 90 applications. We interviewed five very impressive candidates, however there was a standout choice who we offered the role to.
“Georgina blew the panel away with her passion and knowledge for football and sports business and had done extensive research on Chester FC whilst having a specific plan on how she would help move the club forwards broken down into four sections of prestart, 30 days, 60 days, and 90 days.
“The Board are incredibly excited to work with her and I’m sure all the fans will welcome this appointment.”
Georgina will officially take up the role on Wednesday 1st June.
On her appointment, she had this to say: “It is a huge honour to be appointed General Manager of Chester Football Club. I am looking forward to immersing myself in the new role in the coming months to increase our commercial revenues and lead the off-field operations of this club.
“Chester FC has tremendous potential for growth, and I look forward to working closely with the Board to identify new ways to best serve our supporters and achieve our long-term objectives.
“Before obtaining this role, I attended the game at the Deva against Kidderminster Harriers in April. I love how this club is fan-owned, and I felt a real sense of community cohesion having been amongst the fans that day.
“I will be attending today’s match against Bradford (PA), where I am excited to begin building relationships with the fans and the local community.”
Welcome to Chester FC, Georgina!
