NEWS | Lloyd Marsh-Hughes departs Chester FC
Chester Football Club can confirm that Lloyd Marsh-Hughes has departed the Deva Stadium.
The striker has been released from his contract early in order to pursue an opportunity in the Welsh pyramid during their January transfer window.
Marsh-Hughes is a Blues Academy Graduate and scored his first senior goal aged just 16 in a pre-season friendly in the summer of 2017 at Bala Town.
Lloyd went on to make his first competitive start in a home game against Curzon Ashton in January 2019 in the National League North, before signing his first senior deal that summer.
Manager Calum McIntyre said: “It is always sad when a player moves on, particularly when they have been with us so long and especially when they have come through our own Academy programme.
“I have thoroughly enjoyed working with Lloyd for a number of years. I brought him to the club at 16 years old and it has been a pleasure to work with him in a number of different roles.
“I genuinely wish him all the best for the future in whatever he does next, both on and off the pitch.”
The 21-year-old made a total of 30 senior appearances for the club.
Thank you for your efforts, and all the very best in the future Lloyd!
