NLN PREVIEW | Chester vs Guiseley

Chester will be looking to build on Saturday’s win at the Deva against AFC Telford, as Guiseley are the next visitors to CH1.

The Blues bounced back from their home defeat against Chorley last Monday in style, completing a seven-day double over Telford with a dominant 3-0 victory.

Anthony Dudley was on the scoresheet for the fifth game in a row, and could equal Ben Mills’ record set back in 2012 of scoring in six successive matches. Declan Weeks set up that goal, along with assisting Josh Askew’s strike and scoring one of his own in a Man of the Match display.

Guiseley picked up just one point from their two games over Christmas, drawing 2-2 with Farsley Celtic before losing narrowly at York City 1-0. They’ve won just once on the road this campaign – however that victory was an impressive success at Spennymoor at the start of December.

The Lions are Joint-Managed by former Blues boss Marcus Bignot, who is in charge alongside Russ O’Neill. The duo were appointed in the summer of 2018, when both sides were relegated out of the National League.

Kick off at the Deva is 7.45pm.
