Colin returned to Chester FC as Assistant Manager in May 2022. His playing career got underway with the Blues back in the 1985/86 season.
Colin boasts a wealth of playing experience including more than 150 matches for Chester, before being sold to Norwich City for a six-figure sum in 1990. He would feature for the Canaries in the English top-flight, before playing more first division football in Scotland at Aberdeen.
He also made well over a century of appearances for each of his last two clubs, Stockport County and Bury, before hanging up his boots in 2008.
Woodthorpe also has excellent pedigree in a coaching capacity, which started at Colwyn Bay as Assistant Manager back in 2010. He moved to AFC Fylde with Dave Challinor in 2012, and together they brought the Coasters up to the National League and also clinched an FA Trophy success at Wembley in 2019.
Colin first linked up with Blues First Team Manager Calum McIntyre at Runcorn Linnets in 2020.
