Declan joined Chester FC in September 2020. The central midfielder put pen to paper following an extremely successful trial spell with the club during pre-season. Weeks has spent the three seasons prior at fellow National League North side Kidderminster Harriers. He made 93 appearances whilst at Aggborough, scoring six goals and contributing an impressive haul of 18 assists from the centre of the park. The former Welsh Under-21 international began his career at Wolves, before having a spell at Southport. In 2021/22 he made 39 league appearances and scored nine goals; and at the end of season awards won Players’ Player of the Season, Away Travel Player of the Season and the Golden Boot – before signing a new two-year deal at the Deva. Weeks continued to show his value to the Seals in 2022/23, taking the Captain’s armband due to George Glendon’s season ending injury. He won Players’ Player of the Season for a second successive year, and also claimed the big prize of CFU Player of the Season. Declan was selected in the Vanarama National League North Team of the Season for 2022/23. In February 2024, Weeks made his 150th appearance for the club.
