Promising holding midfielder Lewis signed for Chester in June 2022. He started his career at EFL Championship side Preston North End, before departing in the summer of 2020.

Lewis, who stands at 6ft1, moved on to Stockport County – spending the 2021/22 campaign on loan at AFC Telford United, Warrington Rylands and then Hyde United. Earl, who can also feature as a defender, impressed for the Tigers as he made 19 starts and contributed three goals during his spell in the Northern Premier Division.

A serious injury curtailed a large proportion of his first season with the Blues, however he impressed in his nine appearances for the club at the back end of the season and his contract was extended for 2023/24.
