Left-sided defender Nathan Woodthorpe signed for Chester FC in July 2023, before being immediately loaned to Marine until January. Nathan first appeared for the club in the first half of a 2-0 pre-season win over Hanley Town as a Trialist just days prior to his arrival. Nathan started out at Crewe Alexandra – making a couple of appearances in the EFL Trophy – as well as playing for Witton Albion on loan and then impressed at Lancaster City in 2022/23 on a permanent basis. Woodthorpe had a strong end to the 2023/24 campaign after returning from Marine, making 17 appearances for Calum McIntyre’s side.
