Wyll joined the Blues in January 2022. The stopper arrived at the Deva Stadium from Lancaster City.

Stanway started that season at Holker Old Boys, keeping six clean sheets in 12 appearances, before making the step up to the Northern Premier League side. He made five appearances for the Dolly Blues, adding a further three clean sheets to his name.

He made 11 appearances Chester FC during 2021/22. Stanway started each of the final five games of the campaign and kept four clean sheets in the process.

Wyll spent the 2022/23 campaign out on loan at three different clubs, the latter of which seeing him win Championship gold with Macclesfield.
