PREVIEW | Chester v Barrow
Chester welcome Barrow to the Swansway Chester Stadium this Tuesday evening in the Vanarama National League.
Marcus Bignot brought in two new faces this week on the back of Saturday’s defeat to Boreham Wood.
Jordan Gough, a left back, signed on a deal from AFC Telford United until the end of the season. Whilst Jordan Archer, a 6ft 3 striker, joins the Blues from Stourbridge until 2019.
Chester failed to make up for the FA Cup heartbreak at Kidderminster last time out – as the Blues fell to defeat at home to Boreham Wood.
The Wood took the lead through Shaun Jeffers, before Bruno Andrade netted a second for the visitors. Nyal Bell pulled a goal back with 13 minutes left on the clock, but it didn’t prove enough to mount a comeback.
Barrow fell to defeat against Ebbsfleet this Saturday – in a thrilling five goal encounter. Aaron McClean scored the first for the Fleet before Bedsente Gomis pulled the game level for the Bluebirds. Ebbsfleet struck twice in quick succession to put the game out of reach, with a late second for Gomis proving not enough to walk away with a point.
It was a first game in temporary charge for Neill Hornby – following the sacking of Micky Moore following an FA Cup defeat to Shaw Lane over a week ago.
Several Barrow players will be watching the game from the sidelines, however. Dan Jones misses the game due to a recurring injury over the last few weeks. Fellow defenders Dave Nieskens, Moussa Diarra and Thierry Audel all see themselves ruled out of the fixture also.
HISTORY BOOKS
Chester have failed to beat Barrow in all competitions since reforming, losing 2-1 at home in the last fixture in March, and 3-2 at Holker Street in August 2016.

Bradley Bauress
Swooped from Northwich-based outfit Witton Albion in the summer, Bauress has endured a successful spell so far in Cumbria – finding himself as the first name on the team sheet ever week.
Blues fans should know the qualities that Bauress possesses all too well, as the midfielder impressed many over the two FA Trophy ties last season.
Strong, creative and with bundles of energy, the 20-year old has been labelled as a proven goal scorer, and will definitely cause a few problems this Tuesday evening.
