The atmosphere promises to be intense tomorrow, as the Blues welcome Tranmere Rovers to the Swansway Chester Stadium.

A fixture that usually delivers entertainment and plenty of talking points, this is sure to be another feisty encounter. Tranmere have been allocated both the MBNA (South) Stand and the Swettenham Chemists Community (West) Stand – and have already sold out.

They come into this game sitting in 6th place in what is a close play-off pack. Rovers’ last game resulted in a victory over Eastleigh in front of the TV cameras – however both of their games over the Easter weekend were postponed due to the weather.

The Blues meanwhile are ten points from safety and – with just five games remaining – know a win is critical in their quest for survival tomorrow afternoon. Manager Marcus Bignot will take encouragement from the last game – as a narrow 1-0 loss to leaders Macclesfield was not a fair reflection of a game in which the Blues were more than a match for the Silkmen.

Andy Cook – Striker

It would be hard to look past the goals of Andy Cook. The prolific frontman has got 20 goals to his name this season and will be critical to Tranmere’s chances of promotion back to the Football League. He has linked up with fellow striker James Norwood in devastating fashion this term – Norwood also helping himself to 16 goals. 27-year-old Cook arrived at Prenton Park from Barrow in the summer of 2016 – and also bagged 23 goals during the 2016/17 campaign – as Rovers lost to Forest Green in the Play-Off Final at Wembley.
