PREVIEW | Chester vs Guiseley

Merry Christmas from everyone at Chester FC!

From everyone at the Swansway Chester Stadium, we wish you a very Merry Christmas.

Enjoy the day – and tomorrow the Blues will be back in League action in a real relegation six-pointer against Guiseley.

21st plays 23rd tomorrow – and the Blues need to make up ground now on the sides outside the bottom four; after Saturday’s humbling 4-0 defeat at FC Halifax.

All four goals came in the first half on a bitterly disappointing afternoon for Marcus Bignot’s side. However, he will be buoyed by the returns to League action for Craig Mahon and Harry White; who will be in contention to start. Jordan Archer is also back in full training.

Guiseley suffered a setback on Saturday, conceding a last minute equaliser in a 1-1 draw against Aldershot. However, it did end a run of five successive defeats.

    One To Watch

    Alex Purver – Midfielder

22-year-old Purver joined the Club permanently in the summer. He was on-loan from Leeds for the 2016-17 campaign at Nethermoor – as the Lions escaped relegation. He was Leeds United Captain at Under 21 level. A hard-working midfielder, Alex scored the goal for Paul Cox’s side in their last game – and was subsequently named in the Non-League Team of the Week.
