Preview: Gateshead U19 vs Chester FC U19
Chester FC U19s return to action this Wednesday as they travel to the North-East to take on second-placed Gateshead in a crucial top-of-the-table clash.
After an unbeaten start, Chester sit fourth in the National League U19 Alliance North Division, five points behind Wednesday’s opponents with two games in hand.
The hosts have also started their campaign impressively, winning six out of seven league games, however, they were knocked out of the National League U19 Alliance Academy Cup in their most recent outing against Hartlepool United.
Last time out for the Seals was a dominant 6-2 win over Boston United at home, while their cup tie away at Blyth Spartans last week was postponed.
A win for Chester would see them go four points behind leaders FC Halifax Town with three games in hand, whereas Gateshead can go top with a win.
Wednesday’s fixture is the start of three games in nine days for the young Seals, who return to the North-East to face Blyth Spartans in the cup next Wednesday, before hosting AFC Fylde two days later.
