REPORT | Chester FC Women 8-1 Wythenshawe Women
Chester made it three wins in a row in the league, winning emphatically at home to Wythenshawe Women.
Seven of the eight goals came in a quite incredible first half showing at the KGV Sports Hub. The opener arrived after a quarter of an hour when Ash Bullock fired in the opener from Alisha Wright’s pull back.
Wright then made it two before Ellie Bradley extended the lead – two goals in the space of a minute to put the Seals well in command.
Just prior to the half hour mark, Lauren Quigg scored the fourth from a Molly Wood corner, before Bullock and Bradley both made it a brace apiece as the scoreline read 6-0 after just 40 minutes.
Bullock was to go one better though, completing her hat-trick in the final minute of the half, finishing off from yet another Wood assist.
Wythenshawe pulled one back on 65 minutes, but the superb Wood was to have the final say, scoring a goal of her own in the last minute after latching on to a ball over the top from Kerry Morris.
The win strengthened Martin Fitzsimons’ teams’ position in fourth as they look at try and push up towards the top three as the season reaches its crunch.
