Saturday’s game is Her Game Too focus fixture!
This weekend is our Her Game Too focus fixture, as we welcome our women’s and girls’ sides to the Leap76 Stadium for our game against Banbury United.
Chester FC are very proud of the progression of our women’s and girls’ programme, which provides training and playing opportunities to almost 200 players.
Having started with a single team, the programme has grown year-on-year and now includes a First Team, Development Squad, Under-18s Team, an FA Girls’ Emerging Talent Centre, Girls’ Player Development Centre and FA Wildcats centre, creating a full pathway for female players.
The overriding aim is to support women and girls to reach their potential as footballers in a positive, inclusive environment.
Chester and Cheshire West has a number of excellent grassroots clubs and leagues who develop girls football, and our ambition is for young players to aspire to play for Chester FC Women in the same way boys do so for the men’s team.
This weekend, our teams will be present around the stadium, in our gazebo outside the ground prior to kick off, as well as being on the pitch at half time.
The Chester FC Women First Team are in action at the Deva both this Sunday and next, with a league game against Northwich on the 4th before hosting Preston North End in the cup on the 11th.
Could we see our record attendance of 240 broken at one of these games? Click here for fixture info!
The potential for women’s and girls’ football in Chester is huge and the club is committed to continuing to develop the programme in the coming years, supporting the next generation of female players, coaches and volunteers.
Football is a game for all.
