SENIOR CUP PREVIEW | Winsford United vs Chester
The Blues take a break from National League North action this evening, with a trip to Winsford United.
They’ve already progressed through one round in the compeition – beating Witton Albion 2-1 at the Swansway Chester Stadium.
Witton took the lead early on, but a strike from Craig Mahon and a late penalty from Gary Roberts secured the win.
Next up is a trip to the St Lukes Barton Stadium. Winsford ply their trade in the North West Counties League and sit 17th out of 20 teams.
They have 23 points from their opening 25 matches, with six wins so far this term.
Anthony Johnson and Bernard Morley are expected to name a much changed team from Saturday’s victory at FC United. Jon Moran, Matty Waters and Lloyd Marsh-Hughes all made an impact from the bench – and could be in line to start tonight.
Some of the players from the Blues thriving Youth Academy could also make senior appearances.
