Stockport Town 1-0 Chester

A young Chester FC side were narrowly beaten in the First Round of the Cheshire Senior Cup by Stockport Town.

Academy Manager Mike Allcock took charge of a side that featured U17 and U18 players, who put in a valiant effort against strong opposition.

The only goal of the game came on 45 minutes when a free kick into the box was tapped home by Dallas Omoruyi. Stockport had chances to make it safe in the second half but were denied by an excellent performance in the Blues goal from Billy Davies.

A couple of dangerous second half corners from Sam Pilgrim in succession caused the Stockport defence problems, but the Seal Pups couldn’t quite find their way through.

We thank Stockport Town for hosting us and wish them all the best for the remainder of the season.
