The Seals are heading to Northern Ireland!

We are delighted to announce that the Seals are heading to Northern Ireland next month for a pre-season fixture with Glentoran!

Chester FC will visit the NIFL Premiership side on Saturday 26th July, with kick off 2pm at The Oval.

Calum McIntyre’s side will be heading over to Northern Ireland on Thursday 24th July to continue their preparations for the 2025/26 campaign with a two-day training camp an hour outside of Belfast.

The Blues will then visit The Oval on the Saturday to face The Glens, who finished third in Northern Ireland’s top tier last term, before being beaten in the Semi Finals of the UEFA Conference League qualification Play-Offs to Coleraine in May.

CFU Vice-Chair Jim Green said: “We’re really pleased to be undertaking another pre-season tour, which I’m sure will be a fantastic experience for both the squad and our supporters.

“For the players, the chance to spend a few days together in close quarters, travelling, training and playing in a different environment is hugely valuable. This tour forms a key part of the pre-season programme, helping integrate the new additions, building a strong group dynamic, and ensuring our team has the best possible preparation ahead of what will be a demanding campaign.

“The chance to test ourselves against one of Northern Ireland’s most respected clubs is exciting and I’m sure many of our supporters will be looking forward to following the team across to Belfast and enjoying everything the city has to offer.

“We’re grateful to Glentoran extending an invitation to visit The Oval, and to Seamus Heath and Andy Hall for their support with planning the tour, and looking forward to challenging ourselves over the four days and creating some more memories together.”
