Three promising goalkeepers agree terms for 2024/25!
Chester FC are pleased to announce that three promising goalkeepers have all agreed terms ahead of the 2024/25 season!
18-year-old Alex Brown is a new arrival – joining from Tranmere Rovers.
The teenager has been training with the Blues since the beginning of pre-season and featured on the bench against Stockport County and Stoke City as a Trialist.
Alex was with Tranmere Rovers Academy up to Under 18’s level, and last season had loan stints with Jersey Bulls and Vauxhall Motors.
Joe Beswick has extended his stay at the Deva Stadium for a further 12 months.
‘Bez’ joined the club as an Under 15 and is now entering his second year as a senior player – having gained match experience last season at Flint Town United and Runcorn Town.
Billy Davies completes the trio, signing his first senior deal with Chester FC.
Billy has completed his scholarship with the Blues and was named Academy Player of the Season for 2023/24.
All three young ‘keepers will work closely alongside our number one Cameron Mason and Goalkeeper Coach Neil Ebbrell as they continue their development.
Speaking on today’s news, Neil said: “In Billy, Joe and now Alex we have three good, young talented goalkeepers.
“However, in the nitty gritty real world of non-league football managers, they need to know they can ‘trust’ their keepers.
“That only comes from playing regular, consistent senior football within the right environment, where they can play and learn. To achieve this, keepers need to find their level and eventually the cream rises to the top.
“It is hugely important our young keepers eventually receive that game time, which we monitor closely whilst they continue training within the Chester FC Goalkeeping Department.”
Congratulations, Billy, Joe and Alex!
