Tom Shaw named new Blues Assistant Manager

As part of a significant review of operations at Chester Football Club, we are delighted to announce the appointment of Tom Shaw as Assistant Manager for the 2017/18 season.

Tom, who has also extended his playing contract at the club, will assist Jon McCarthy as part of a reshaped backroom team.

Tom has considerable coaching experience already and is highly regarded in coaching circles. He also brings a knowledge of Chester FC where – of course – he was recently voted Football Writers Player of the Season.

Chris Iwelumo – who has made an invaluable contribution to the development of players like James Alabi – is considering an offer made to him for the role of Strikers Coach, which would more effectively combine with his media commitments.

In addition, the club hopes that Dave Felgate – who is a UEFA A licensed coach – will adopt additional responsibilities for the coming season.

In a detailed review of last season the club will leave no stone unturned in looking at where we can progress and how we can become more competitive.

Further announcements will be made in due course.
