VOLUNTEERS | Fan Engagement Group Need Your Help!
The Fan Engagement Working Group (FEWG) are always looking to improve the matchday experience at Chester FC, but they need your help.
The FEWG are looking for the following people to join their team on a voluntary basis:
- On-Pitch Matchday Host
- Schools Season Ticket Matchday Host
- FEWG members
On-pitch Matchday Host – As you know we are always trying to improve on the pre-match and half time entertainment and recently availability has meant (as well as weather conditions) have meant that we’ve been unable to do as much as we like. So, we’re looking for a confident person with a personality to match, who will be absolutely comfortable in talking on a microphone whilst co-ordinating the events taking place on the pitch on matchday. This will compliment the role carried out by our regular matchday announcer. Given the role, we would naturally require availability for home games on Saturday afternoons and Tuesday evenings.
Schools Season Ticket Matchday Hosting Team Members – Each week at Chester FC, we have a great number of schools taking advantage of the season ticket that was rolled out by FEWG and the Community Trust at the beginning of the season. This means up to 250 new fans are coming in to our stadium, and we want to welcome them with open arms, with the intention of them enjoying the experience and returning for the next game, and beyond. Therefore we have at present a very small matchday hosting team that provides those entering the Swettenham Chemists Community Stand (via turnstile 6), who present those visiting us for the first time with a Welcome Pack. We need more team members to assist with this, so if you’re the kind of person that would enjoy this role and has a great personality, then please get in touch.

FEWG members – as ever we’re always on the lookout for more Working Group members, so if you would like to help improve the matchday experience as well as the Chester fan experience in general, we look at lots of initiatives like Matchday Entertainment and Experience, Season Tickets (including Cestrian 10), Matchday Admission, CFU Membership campaigns, Matchday Themes, Census… the list goes on. We meet roughly one evening per month and it’s a really informal meeting too. We also ask if members can potentially help out on matchdays at the gazebo that is positioned outside the ground, for any campaigns that we are running.
