Welcome to Chester FC, Bobby Jones!
Chester FC are delighted to announce the signing of 24-year-old goalkeeper Bobby Jones on loan from Boston United until the end of the season.
The shot-stopper joins the Blues with a backlog of National League North experience, having featured on over 70 occasions at this level for the likes of Farsley Celtic, Brackley Town, Curzon Ashton, and Spennymoor Town.
Following stints in the youth setups at both Middlesbrough and Wigan Athletic, Jones made a permanent switch to AFC Fylde in 2021, where he stayed for 12 months before a move to Stockport County.
Whilst with the Hatters, Bobby was sent on loan to both Brackley and Marine, and won promotion with the latter during the tail end of the 2023/24 campaign.
The 24-year-old put pen-to-paper in Lincolnshire with parent club Boston in the summer, but has featured 11 times at this level already this term, during a loan stint at Spennymoor Town between October-December.
The new man was delighted after his move to CH1 was sealed: “I’m delighted to be here at this big, ambitious club,” said Bobby.
“I’m looking forward to playing for such a big club and a big fan base. I’ve always been looking for opportunities to get games under my belt, so when this chance came up it was a no-brainer.
“My first session with the lads was good, you can see that there’s lots of ability and talent in the squad, so we just need to put that on to the pitch now.
“I can’t wait for tomorrow night, hopefully we can give the fans a big performance and three important points.
Welcome to Chester FC, Bobby!
