Welcome to Chester FC, Hayden Carson!

Chester FC are delighted to announce the signing of Hayden Carson on a season-long loan from Wolverhampton Wanderers!

The 19-year-old bolsters the Blues’ defensive unit ahead of Saturday’s trip to Worksop Town.

Carson primarily plies his trade as a centre-back, but has shown versatility throughout his career and can feature at full-back or in holding midfield.

Whitehaven born, the defender has enjoyed a long association with Wolves, breaking into the Under-18 setup during 2021/22 at the age of just 15.

54 appearances followed at Under-18 level before five appearances in Old Gold at Under-21 level, after his debut came in a 3-0 defeat to Sheffield United U21 in October 2024.

The youngster got his first taste of senior football during the second half of last campaign with loan spell at NPL Midlands Division outfit Darlaston Town, a period that saw the defender become a mainstay in a team that achieved an impressive seventh-placed finish.

Hayden is the son of ex-Manchester City, Derby County and West Bromwich Albion goalkeeper Scott Carson, who made 146 Premier League appearances and picked up four caps for England at senior level.

The move sees the Wolves loanee follow in the footsteps of Jimmy Storer and Lewys Benjamin, who have also made the move from Molineux to the Deva Stadium over the past two seasons.

Blues boss Calum McIntyre was delighted after Hayden put pen-to-paper: “Hayden will be a good addition to the group,” he said.

“His mentality is well above his years and he strengthens the defensive options that we have got.

“He also comes from a good club that we know a lot about, which is important.”

Hayden was thrilled after his loan move was sealed: “I’ve heard a lot of good things from some of the other Wolves lads who’ve been on loan here,” he said.

“I’m excited for the atmosphere at this stadium and the crowds that this club brings in.”

    Welcome to CH1, Hayden!
