Chester FC are a delighted to announce the signing of young defender Isaac Burgess!
The 18-year-old has impressed on trial during pre-season for the Blues, slotting into the defensive unit in the second-half during the 1-0 victory away at Colwyn Bay.
Burgess departed National League outfit Rochdale’s youth setup in the summer.
The promising talent made his senior debut for the Dale in an FA Trophy clash with Gateshead in late 2023.
Another taste of senior football came in early 2025 with a month-long loan stint at Matlock Town in the NPL Premier Division.
Isaac will continue his development after securing a move to CH1 with a loan move to a club in the NPL Premier Division.
Calum was delighted after the youngster put pen-to-paper at the Deva: “Isaac comes on board as someone we feel we could develop for the future,” he said.
“For a club like ours, developing and then potentially moving talent up the pyramid is a key component of the business model.
“We are often heavily focused on our own Academy products but it is equally important to recruit young players and give them a platform to develop with us.
“Isaac is a really athletic defender and we feel a loan into senior football is vital for his development at this moment in time.
“He joins a NPL Premier Division club to allow him to get further experience of senior football at the right level.”
