YOUTH REPORT | Chester Under 19’s 2-0 Luton Town Cedars
A goal in each half from Tom Ruffer and Regan Rubin saw the Young Blues advance to the National League Alliance Cup Final!
Played in front of 268 supporters at the 1885 Arena, it was a fantastic evening for Calum McIntyre’s side who will now face Eastleigh for the chance to win this competition for the second time in just three years.
In the first half, Chester hit the front in wet and windy conditions on 19 minutes. Stuart Crilly did well down the left, firing a low ball into the box which the unmarked Ruffer latched on to before curling beyond Daniels in the Luton net.
Regan Rubin wrapped it up on 73 minutes. Credit this time went to Jake Hampson who battled hard to win the ball back high up the pitch, before sliding Rubin through on goal – the forward with a brilliantly composed finish across the keeper and into the bottom corner to seal the tie.
Well done, lads!
