NLN PREVIEW | Gloucester City vs Chester
After bouncing back with victory on Tuesday, the Blues head to the early pace setters in Gloucester City tomorrow afternoon.
Following two defeats on the spin to Spennymoor Town and Marine, the 2-1 midweek victory was a welcome result for Bern and Jonno’s side. However, it was the performance – and the intensity of it – that was just as pleasing for all to see.
The Blues face a stern test tomorrow, with big spenders Gloucester City hoping for a memorable campaign in their new stadium. New Meadow Park is built on the same grounds as the old Stadium, and has ended their 13-year exile away from the City of Gloucester.
With signings such as last season’s Chester FC top scorer Akwasi Asante, James Rowe’s side will be expected to compete at the top for the majority of the National League North campaign. They’ve made a flawless start – winning all three matches and scoring 11 goals in the process.
The Blues though will be hoping to build on Tuesday’s result. Taking out the Marine performance, there’s a sense the Blues are playing some fantastic football which is very easy on the eye – and are more than capable of putting in a superb away performance tomorrow.
It’s First versus Third, and it could be a cracker. Kick off tomorrow is 3pm!
