BREAKING | Declan Weeks signs new two-year deal!

We are delighted to announce that midfielder Declan Weeks has signed a new two-year contract with Chester FC!

The central midfielder, 26, has put pen to paper until the summer of 2024, despite significant interest elsewhere.

Dec joined the club in 2020 and has made a fantastic impact since his arrival down CH1. He made 21 appearances in the previous curtailed season, scoring four memorable goals and in the process was selected as Managers’ Player of the Season.

However, this term Weeks was able to progress to even higher levels. He made 38 league appearances, scoring nine goals from midfield, and winning a string of Man of the Match awards in doing so.

His efforts were rewarded with three trophies at our End of Season Awards. Declan scooped up Players’ Player of the Season, Away Travel Player of the Season and was also the joint winner of our Golden Boot Award.

Weeks had this to say after committing his future to the Blues: “I’m buzzing to be staying here.

“This club feels like home to me. After the way last season went, I’ve got a real motivation to be a part of turning the corner and getting the club back on an upward trajectory.

“I met with Calum last week, and as soon as you get talking about football his enthusiasm hits you immediately.

“He’s a real breath of fresh air and seems to have a clear way of how he wants to do things – I’m excited to get going.”
