FAYC Report: Chorley 1-7 Chester
Chester’s Under 18’s advanced into the Second Qualifying Round of the FA Youth Cup with a scintillating display at Victory Park.
Mike Allcock’s side raced into a three-goal lead inside 18 minutes at Chorley to set up a fantastic win.
The opening goal came on seven minutes when Michael Jamieson’s long throw bounced in the area and was fired home by an excellent Oskar Rosenblatt snapshot.
One quickly became two when fellow forward Luca Boon latched on to a sliced shot and found the back of the net on 11 minutes.
Mikey Lawson bagged the third, a superb effort from range which swirled through the air and beat the Magpies goalkeeper.
The home side got one back before the interval, when an excellent curling effort on 38 minutes left ‘keeper Billy Davies with no chance.
Chorley would look to mount a memorable comeback, but any hopes were quashed on the hour mark when Rosenblatt’s free kick was nodded home by the excellent Henry Briscoe.
Chester pressed to put further gloss on the scoreline and the fifth arrived when Boon was alive to a loose ball once again in the box to make it a brace.
Boon’s replacement on 75 minutes, Louie Westhead, would score the final two goals on a brilliant evening for the Blues.
His first goal was well turned in from close range following a cross from fellow substitute Ryan Atkinson. Westhead’s second and Chester’s seventh came in the final minute of the match – curling home from outside the box after good work by Paddy Davies.
