Declan Weeks pens new deal until 2026!
Chester FC are thrilled to announce that Declan Weeks has signed a new contract with the Blues until 2026!
The 27-year-old has committed his long-term future to the club, having been an integral part of the side since his arrival back in 2020.
Weeks Captained the side to third place last season following George Glendon’s injury, stepping up to lead from the front and being named both Players’ Player and CFU Player of the Season for 2022/23.
Dec said this after signing his new contract: “I am very grateful to be given the opportunity to continue to help drive this club forwards.
“It’s a club that shares the same values as myself and I will work as hard as I can to contribute and try bring it the success that we all want.
“Up the Seals!”
The central midfielder made his 125th Blues appearance in the X against Peterborough Sports earlier today, and we’re delighted that he has put pen to paper to extend his stay for a further two and a half years.
Manager Calum McIntyre said: “Over the last 12 months, we have made great strides in improving what we do as a football club as a footballing operation.
“A big part of that is being proactive regarding contract situations and ensuring we can act early to secure our best assets on longer term deals when opportunity arises.
“Dec is someone that has consistently proven himself to be among the most talented players in the division, but over the past 12 months has cemented himself as an even more important senior player at the club.
“If we are to progress as a football club over the coming years, it is vital that players as talented and people as important as Dec are with us for the journey.”
Great to have you staying on board, Dec!
