BREAKING | Martin Fitzsimons appointed Chester FC Womens Manager!
Chester FC Women are delighted to announce the appointment of Martin Fitzsimons as Manager ahead of the 2019-2020 season!
Martin, 27, is a UEFA B licence coach and joins from Crewe Alexandra Women, where he was Reserves manager and Head of Youth Development.
He also coaches in the Academy at Wigan Athletic and works at Wigan Athletic Community Trust.
Martin will be joined by Ben Wilkes who has been appointed as Assistant Manager.
Speaking on the appointment, Community Trust CEO Jim Green said: “We were very pleased with the calibre of applicants for the post, but Martin really stood out and impressed the selection panel.
“He already has a good level of experience in the women’s game and we’re confident he will be an excellent fit for the role.
“The women’s team have been a real success story in recent seasons and I’m sure that trend will continue under Martin’s leadership.”
Chester FC Women will be holding an open trial this summer for anyone interested in joining the club. Prospective players can email community@chesterfc.com to obtain further details.
