Albert Davies appointed Media and Communications Officer

Albert takes over from Dan Burns

ChesterFC.com can confirm that Albert Davies has been elected by the Media team to fill the vacancy of Club Media and Communications officer.

The appointment comes following Dan Burns stepping down from the post ahead of the birth of his first Junior Blue!

Dan has been a crucial member of the club behind the scenes since assisting stadium announcer Rob Clegg, before moving into the Media Officer role and Chester FC would like to thank him for all of his hard work over the last five years. Albert was quick to praise his former mentor, “Dan has represented Chester FC brilliantly as Media Officer, he is a role model to me and I owe him a lot of thanks. It is an honour to be taking the reigns from him”

CEO Mark Maguire was also full of praise for Dan: “One of the things we can easily miss as a club is the fact that the majority of people work behind the scenes, and it’s easy to forget that they have their own lives to lead beyond Chester FC, so it is that we say a big thanks and best wishes to Dan Burns who is stepping down as Media Officer with the impending arrival of his first child, new house and very busy job all queuing up for his attention.”

“Dan had been a complete professional, dedicated and passionate and I know has had a huge impact on the likes of Albert and Conor who have assisted him in the media department. We will miss Dan’s involvement albeit that he will still be in the background and we thank him for his significant contribution.”

Dan has confirmed he will still remain an active member of the media team.

Mark was also excited for the future under Albert’s leadership, “I’d like to wish Albert all the very best with his new role – Albert has shown himself to be an enthusiastic and determined supporter of the club who is using his media studies at Chester University to good effect. I’m sure he will make a great success of his new role.”

Albert, who first started volunteering at age 14, back in November 2010, has been an instrumental part of the team and has developed tremendously over the years first under the tutelage of Jeff Banks and then under Dan.

He will still continue in his role within the matchday media team, and said: “I’m delighted to have been selected for this role – for me personally it is the culmination of six years hard work at this incredible football club.”

    Good Luck, Albert!
