BREAKING | Chester FC sign Lewis Earl!
Chester Football Club is pleased to confirm that we have agreed a deal to sign Lewis Earl.
The versatile 20-year-old midfielder has put pen to paper on an initial one-year contract at the Deva Stadium.
He started his career at EFL Championship side Preston North End, before departing in the summer of 2020.
Lewis, who stands at 6ft1, moved on to Stockport County – spending last season on loan at AFC Telford United, Warrington Rylands and then Hyde United.
Earl, who can also feature as a defender, impressed for the Tigers as he made 19 starts and contributed three goals during his spell in the Northern Premier Division.
Manager Calum McIntyre said: “Lewis is another player that is a prime example of our recruitment model.
“His athletic and physical qualities are glaringly obvious and we see him as a young player with enormous potential, but equally one that has already proven his worth and his ability in senior football.
“He is a talented player technically but his frame and defensive attributes make him a strong addition in holding midfield where we recognise we need to add the right bodies.
“We are clear in our recruitment of these younger players that they are not untried in senior football. Lewis has been in a really strong full-time environment at Stockport County last season alongside two successful loan spells at Warrington Rylands and then Hyde United.
“We are delighted to get Lewis on board as we continue to build our squad for the season ahead.”
Welcome aboard, Lewis!
