BREAKING | Date set for Chester FC’s U-19’s National League Alliance Cup Final!
We are delighted to confirm that Chester FC’s Under-19’s side will be playing their 2019/20 National League Alliance Cup Final at the end of this month!
Calum McIntyre’s team will face Eastleigh FC for the chance to end the season by winning this competition for the second time – the first being that memorable night in May 2018 at Walsall FC when the Young Blues defeated FC Halifax Town 3-0.
The game is to take place on Wednesday 31st March, with kick off at 7pm at Sixways Stadium – the home of the Worcester Warriors Rugby side.
Unfortunately, this match will be played behind closed doors.
The Blues advanced to the Final 372 days ago, defeating Luton Town Cedars 2-0 at the Deva Stadium.
Academy Head Coach Calum McIntyre said: “This is superb news for our young players and is so exciting for them.
“The fact they have been denied so many opportunities over the past 12 months makes this really important for the boys and we are really looking forward to it.
“We had a great run in this competition to get to the final and it’s right that the lads get the chance to win a trophy. We are a young group now and we know we will be up against it against an older Eastleigh side.
“That said, we are Chester and that always counts for something!”
More details will follow leading up to the game, including match coverage and opportunities to sponsor our Young Blues ahead of the big day. Stay tuned!
