BREAKING | Lewis Coulton joins the Blues on loan!
Chester FC are delighted to announce the loan signing of left-back Lewis Coulton from Preston North End!
The highly-rated 19-year-old defender has joined the Blues from the Sky Bet Championship side initially until January.
From Leyland, Lewis has been involved with the first team at Deepdale throughout pre-season and last season represented Scotland at Under-19 level – lining up alongside former Blues loanee Rob Apter.
He also signed his first professional deal last term and impressed for Warrington Town in the second half of the season as they reached the Northern Premier Play-Off Final.
Manager Calum McIntyre said: “Lewis is a really talented footballer and we are pleased to add him to our group for the season ahead.
“This is something that has been ongoing during the close season and I’m pleased we have got it finalised.
“He fits the profile for us given that he has had senior experience already in a previous loan spell. We wanted to bolster in and around those defensive positions prior to the season starting and we have certainly done that with Lewis.
“We are grateful to Preston for trusting us with the next stage of Lewis’ development.”
