BREAKING | Matty Williams signs new deal at Chester FC!

We are delighted to announce that defender Matty Williams has signed a new deal at Chester FC!

The CFU Player of the Season has committed himself to the Blues for the 2022/23 campaign under new Manager Calum McIntyre.

Williams, 21, joined the club 12 months ago and has made significant progression in his maiden season at the Deva.

Matty played 35 games in central defence, putting in a string of impressive performances, also chipping in with five goals.

His performances caught the eye of the Blues faithful, with the City Fans United members selecting him as the standout player for 2021/22.

“I can’t wait to get started,” Matty said after putting pen to paper on a new one-year contract.

“I’m really looking forward to kicking on and I hope we can give the fans something back after last season.

“Calum’s been good, he spoke to me about the plans for next season and hopefully we can start the season strong because it looks really positive from here.”
