CFCW Preview: Ellesmere Port Town (a)

Chester FC Women are back on the road again on Wednesday evening, as they make the short trip to face Ellesmere Port Town Ladies looking to return to winning ways.

The Blues suffered just their second league defeat away from home this season, following a 4-2 defeat at runaway league leaders Wythenshawe.

Despite going into half time 3-2 down following goals from leading goal scorer Molly Wood and a long range effort from Charlotte Locke, Chester were unable to find an equaliser with Wythenshawe adding a fourth late on.

Wednesday’s hosts come into the midweek clash on the back of a thumping 6-0 defeat away at the league leaders Wythenshawe last time out. The Cheshire outfit are currently placed 8th in the league, with nine wins from their 20 games played to date.

The Seals recorded their first win of the campaign when the two sides met in the reverse future in August, goals from Katie Priest and Evie Halliwell secured a 3-1 win for Chester.
