CFCW Preview: Runcorn Linnets (h)

It’s Cheshire County Cup action for Chester FC Women this weekend, as they welcome Runcorn Linnets to the Leap76 Stadium with a place in the semi-final at stake.

The Blues crashed out of The Alliance Design & Print Plate last weekend, suffering a 2-1 defeat at home to Division One North outfit Radcliffe Women.

Despite heading into half-time 2-0 down following two first half goals, Chester rallied shortly after the break and pulled a goal back through striker Emma Gray. This would only prove to be a consolation, as the Seals were unable to find an equaliser and suffered an early exit from this year’s competition.

Sunday’s visitors Runcorn come into this weekend’s quarter final on the back of a crushing away defeat last time out to Blackburn in the Alliance Design & Print Plate. The Cheshire outfit are currently on a run of only two wins in their last five games.

The two sides have already met once this season in the league back in November, with Chester coming out on top following a 4-2 win on the road.

Kick off is 2pm on Sunday afternoon at the Leap76 Stadium, CH1 4LT.

Entry to the game is payment via contactless at the gate. Matchday prices are as follows…

    • £3 Adults
    • £2 Concessions
    • £1 Under 16’s

Refreshments for the game will be available in the Main Stand kiosk.

    ● Chester’s Rach Lloyd grabbed a sublime hattrick when the two sides last met in November.

    ● Runcorn’s most recent victory over Chester came early last season in the league, following a 4-2 win.
