Chester FC are heading to the Isle of Man!
We’re delighted to announce that Chester FC will be heading to the Isle of Man in July, to play two pre-season fixtures as part of a Summer Festival of Football!
Calum McIntyre’s side will face hosts FC Isle of Man on Friday 19th July, kick off 7pm, before taking on Lancaster City at 11am on Sunday 21st July.
The Dolly Blues and Radcliffe FC are both also making journey across the Irish Sea for the weekend as part of the festival.
FC Isle of Man’s sponsor Steam Packet Holidays are offering visiting fans the perfect match experience by providing travel & festival ticket packages. Plus, there’s option to include accommodation should you plan to stay and support us at both of our games on the Isle of Man this summer. View more details and book your package here.
If you are a local or visiting fan not booking a package holiday, early bird tickets are now on sale at a price of £20 per adult or £10 per child/concession for all four games (plus 50p per ticket processing fee). You can purchase them here.
Ticket prices will increase to £24 per adult & £12 per child/concession (plus 50p per ticket processing fee) on 1st June 2024.
Manager Calum McIntyre said: “This is a really exciting opportunity for us to do something different during our pre-season preparations.
“We are going to make significant changes to the pre-season schedule we have undertaken during recent seasons. We have a revamped programme to work through and this is a significant part of that.
“The chance to take the players away for a couple of days will be extremely useful as we look to establish a new group for the season ahead. The players will very much be in each other’s pockets in different surroundings and this is invaluable in creating the type of environment we want to succeed this year.
“For us, it will give us a real opportunity to build that team and group dynamic but it will also give us the opportunity to mix with our supporters who will no doubt follow us over the water to the Isle of Man.
“We look forward to build relationships between the supporters and the team that we will be ensuring are proud to represent them during the season ahead.
“We are really looking forward to visiting the Isle of Man and are extremely grateful to our hosts at FC Isle of Man.”
Further details will be provided in due course, as we plan to host a social event over the weekend for supporters to attend to meet the Players and Staff.
Jim Green, CFU Vice Chair, said: “Some supporters will have fond memories of the club’s previous trips and this year actually marks 30 years since the last time a Chester team played on the island.
“We’d like to say a huge thank you to the Isle of Man for covering the travel and accommodation costs for our First Team as part of the Summer Festival of Football.
“We’re looking forward to visiting the Isle of Man and being part of what should be a fantastic event.”
