    Chester FC Youth 9-0 Stockport County

    The Blues were on Cloud Nine as they hit nine without reply against Stockport County at Chester Boughton Hall in the NWYA Premier Division on Sunday.

    The victory was the Young Blues’ fourth in as many games in what has been a pleasing start to the season for Calum McIntyre’s men.

    Cain Noble’s hat-trick, a brace from Lloyd Marsh-Hughes and a goal apiece for Ryan Dobson, Sion Jones, Brandon Dickinson and Iwan Murray made it an incredible afternoon for Chester.

    Noble had the Blues in front inside three minutes before Ryan Dobson’s header from Murray’s corner doubled the advantage just moments later.

    Chester were very much on the front foot and were keen to have something to show for their positive start, Iwan Murray adding a third inside the opening quarter of an hour.

    Murray saw his attempt at a second rebound off the crossbar for Cain Noble to bundle home to put Chester 4-0 up inside twenty minutes before Sion Jones slotted in at the back post to give Chester a fifth inside thirty minutes. Lloyd Marsh- Hughes saw his penalty saved just before half-time was called on a whirlwind fourty-five minutes.

    The second half started slowly, Alex Downes heading over for the home side and substitute Brandon Dickinson coming close after breaching the Stockport defence.

    The visiting side were proving resilient in the second period however and a sixth wasn’t added until the seventieth minute. Lloyd Marsh-Hughes chasing what appeared to be a lost cause, lobbing the ball back across goal for Dickinson to nod home.

    Noble added a seventh and completed a hat-trick, firing the ball through a melee in the penalty area and finding the bottom corner. Two quick fire goals for the tireless Lloyd Marsh-Hughes added an eighth and a ninth to complete a memorable afternoon for the league leaders.

    Academy Head Coach Calum McIntyre said: “We have threatened to do that to someone for a while.

    “We place a huge amount of importance on the way we start games and I think we got some reward for playing at the right sort of tempo.

    “When you score an early goal, you are immediately on the front foot but the hardest thing can be to maintain an intensity when you are beginning to be comfortable.

    “We were ruthless in front of goal today but we had some superb performances all round the pitch. Matty Thomson must have ran a half-marathon today and was simply outstanding and his and the back four’s contribution should not be forgotten.”

    The fixture was the Young Blues first at Chester Boughton Hall and McIntyre was full of praise for the venue.

    He said: “There aren’t many better facilities in the region than Chester Boughton Hall Cricket Club.

    “We are extremely grateful to both the facility and Chester Nomads for getting us on here and really look forward to exploring this relationship. The playing surface is incredible, the facilities are first class and we couldn’t have been made more welcome.

    “We look forward to working closely with CBHCC and Chester Nomads in the future.”
