FA TROPHY PREVIEW | Curzon Ashton vs Chester

Attentions turn to the Buildbase FA Trophy this weekend as the Blues visit Curzon Ashton.

Blues defender Danny Livesey is in Interim Charge for the first time at the Tameside Stadium following the departure of Joint Managers Anthony Johnson and Bernard Morley on Wednesday.

This game is one of nine all-National League North ties in the Second Round of the competition. Curzon sit seventh in the league table at present with 22 points from their first 13 matches. Manager Adam Lakeland departed Farsley Celtic to join the Nash one month ago.

Winners of Second Round ties will earn £3750 in prize money, with the losers getting £1000.

Last season, the Blues defeated Bradford (PA) in the competition 3-1, before being beaten at home 2-1 by Altrincham in the following round back in December 2020.

Should Saturday’s game finish level after 90 minutes, the tie will go straight to penalties.
