MATCH PREVIEW | Brackley Town vs Chester | FA Trophy 3QR
The Blues visit Brackley Town for the second time this month tomorrow – as attentions turn to the Buildbase FA Trophy.
After a Gateshead postponement due to a waterlogged pitch in the North East last weekend, the Blues will be 14 days without any first team action. However, they did shake off any rustiness with a convincing 3-0 win over Accrington Stanley on Monday at the 1885 Arena in a Behind Closed Doors Friendly.
Akwasi Asante was the big plus point, getting a goal and half an hour of action as he begins his return from injury.
In the National League North at the start of November, the Blues picked up a 1-1 draw at Brackley – with Brad Jackson getting on the scoresheet. This time, the lads are back in action in the Buildbase FA Trophy Third Qualifying Round. One win gets them to Round One, when National League clubs enter.
A tough draw for the Blues, who face an away draw against the side who won the competition back in 2018 – beating Bromley at Wembley in the final on penalties. Last year, they were knocked out at the Quarter Final Stage by beaten finalists Leyton Orient.
Prize money for this round sees the winners receive £3,750, and the losers receive £1,250.
Kick off tomorrow is 3pm.
