MATCH PREVIEW | Chester vs Southport

Chester return to match action this midweek for another home game, this time against Southport.

Saturday’s trip to Spennymoor Town was postponed, in line with the rest of football, out of respect following the death of Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II.

That means ten days without a game for Calum McIntyre’s men, who are aiming to build an unbeaten run which has seen them gather four points from the last two matches. In their last encounter, a remarkable fightback from three goals down at the break saw the Blues earn a point from the league leaders King’s Lynn.

Southport got their season off to the perfect start with a stunning 5-3 opening day win at Boston, and won two of their opening three matches. However, since then they are without victory in four and will be desperate to return to winning ways.

Kick off on Tuesday evening is 7.45pm.
