MATCH PREVIEW | Leamington vs Chester

Chester’s next away task in the National League North is a trip to the New Windmill Ground to face Leamington FC.

The National League North clash tomorrow comes off the back of a solid defensive display and a hard-earned point at York City on Tuesday in a goalless draw.

That impressive organised performance made it just one defeat in 13 National League North encounters. It moved Anthony Johnson and Bernard Morley’s side up to 4th in the table and just one point off the top.

Leamington are the opposition and sit 13th in the table. Their last game as a 2-0 win away at Nuneaton – which was their first victory in five.

They were dealt an early season blow – losing top scorer Matty Stenson to Solihull Moors. The striker joined the Brakes in the summer after scoring 20 goals at Barwell last season. He got off to a flyer – netting eight goals in all comps in August and winning the National League North Player of the Month award. But then National League side Solihull swooped to sign the striker for an undisclosed fee in October.
