MATCH PREVIEW | Spennymoor vs Chester | National League North

Yet another tough test beckons, as the Blues wrap up a hectic August with a trip to the North East to face Spennymoor Town.

Seven of eight games down in the first month of the new campaign, Chester FC are yet to lose. Three draws have been accompanied with four fantastic victories. The Bank Holiday weekend yielded a superb maximum six points from six against Kidderminster Harriers and Hereford.

They face a winless Spennymoor Town who have played just five games thus far. The beaten Play-Off finalists from last season will be playing just their second home match after having a new pitch setting in at The Brewery Field. Title favourites York City won 4-1 at Spennymoor last week – before Jason Ainsley’s side battled to a point at Curzon Ashton on Monday.

The Blues would love to gain revenge after the Moors took four points from six in this fixture last season. An entertaining opening day goalless draw was followed by a 2-0 home win at the Brewery Field in January of this year.

    NOTICES FOR SUPPORTERS

The South terracing is still under construction and will, therefore, be closed for the Chester game.  Effectively this makes The Brewery Field a three-sided ground for the match.  This will not affect the amenities such as catering or toilet provision.

The Tees Crescent turnstile will be closed for entry to the ground due to work, however it will be opened for use as an exit at full time.

The game will not be segregated.

    CAR PARKING

Postcode for car park: DL16 6JW

The club has made strides to alleviate parking issues on a match day by striking a two-year deal with Durham County Council to utilise the old Durham Road school site for match day parking.

The car park will be manned by Spennymoor Town Youth FC volunteers and the price of use will be a donation to the Academy.  All proceeds go to the Academy itself.
