NEWS | CFU Chair joins Government-Led Fan Review
Last week, City Fans United Chair Andrew Morris presented to the Government-Led Fan Review on the future of Football.
The review commissioned by the Department of Culture Media and Sport is being led by Tracey Crouch MP in the wake of the attempted Super League Breakaway earlier this year.
Reflecting on the request, Andrew Morris said: “The request to engage in the process came via the Football Supporters Association and it was a privilege to talk through the positive aspect of supporter ownership and wider benefits of fan representation on the board.
“Chester FC are one of only a handful of Clubs nationally to have been asked to individually present to the panel about the clubs’ journey so far and challenges faced being supporter owned.
“As well as reflecting on supporter ownership, I was also asked for my observations around governance within the National League level.
“We have previously been vocal regarding with calls for greater transparency, as well as the need for increased support for players at National League North level who are often not eligible for the support available compared to their EFL counterparts for medical expenses and educational opportunities via the PFA.”
